Worship Update - March 2022

 Dear Salem family,

"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.”  (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

It seems hard to believe that it was almost exactly two years ago that I first wrote to you to share the restrictions that we were putting in place due to Covid-19.  Much has changed in the last two years.  But our commitment here at Salem to our mission, “Built on faith, Growing in God” has remained the same.  Throughout these two years, we have continued our call of sharing the Gospel with those in our community, supporting one another and growing in our faith.

As we are emerging from one season into another, I want to share with you the decisions made by the Church Council at our March meeting.  Masks will now be optional for worship and other activities in the building here at Salem.  We will continue to observe social distancing in the Sanctuary and receive communion in our seats.  The service will still be livestreamed to the basement, as an option for those who wish to have a more controlled environment.  The service will also continue to be available on our website as soon as possible following worship.  These decisions will continue to be reviewed at each council meeting, so that we are being responsive to the local situation.

This easing of restrictions also allows us to be more comfortable having events.  We are thrilled that we will once again be able to have our annual Easter breakfast between services on Easter morning, Sunday April 17th.  Look for opportunities to RSVP in the bulletin and join us as we celebrate the Risen Christ!

I am grateful to this community for your continued support and grace during this ever changing time.  We continue to pray for peace and health throughout the world.

Blessings,

Pastor Stina
